We will be playing the simulated courses for this league. It is geared toward the intermediate to advanced golfer, but if you play golf for fun, why not get in!
Other than the age requirement, only one. Since we are allowing Golf Professionals and Teaching Professionals to play in the Scratch Division only, players must not have played in any events on a notable Professional Golf Tour in 2018 unless a Sponsor Exemption was given, and waiver is shown.
As a PGA Professional, not only can you play in the League, you can earn an incentive for each team you refer. For every two-player team that you refer to this League, you will receive a certificate for 1 Hour of Complimentary Bay Play at Drive Shack ($50 Value), with no limit on the number of certificates received. This certificate can be used by you or it can be given to a Member, friend, staff Member, etc. to show your appreciation. Please use this as my way of saying thank you for assisting this venture!
Guests under the age of 18 may play in the League, provided they are on a team with their parent/guardian.
Based on a full field, we are building this league on having 8 teams in each Division
Drive Shack will ensure that the Divisions are flighted equally with very closely matched teams Therefore, we will place teams in Divisions based on the lowest handicap player.
The format for this League is 9 Holes of Stroke Play, 2 Player Team v. 2 Player Team Scramble (Captain’s Choice) on a pre-selected course each week. Players from each team will hit a tee ball at the start of each hole and then select their best shot on the Bay Touch Panel. Once the shot is selected, it may not be undone. Team members will repeat this process until the ball finishes on the putting surface. When the ball lies on the putting surface, the auto-putt function will be utilized, however the team must still select the shot they wish to count (Putts inside of 10 ft. = 1 putt, putts 10 ft. or longer = 2 putts.
We understand that sometimes things come up and schedules get adjusted. If one of your team members can’t be there for a match, the captain can select one “Alternate” to substitute for a player. If the Alternate is deployed, that player must play the entire match. The only exception to the substitute rule is that only the two original team members may play in the Final Night Playoffs.
The system will automatically tally the team scores; however, each Team Captain will fill out their team’s 9 hole gross score v. their opponent’s. Each Captain will sign to verify the validity of the final result and return it to the Drive Shack League representative for posting. A tie score will remain a tie during the Regular Season, and all standings will be posted as either a Win, Loss or Tie.
The top 4 teams (Seed #1-#4), in each Division, will be seeded accordingly after the Regular Season, and will advance to the Championship Bracket, played on Monday, November 19th. The bottom 4 teams (Seeds #5-#8), will play in the Consolation Bracket. Two matches will be played by all teams with the winner of the 1st Round Matches playing each other for the right to compete for the Championship and Consolation Bracket Winner. These matches will be played at Match Play (hole by hole scoring) and in the event of a tie after 9 holes, sudden death extra holes will be used.
Prizes will be awarded to the Champions, the Runners Up & the Consolation Bracket Winner for each Division
