What is Drive Shack?

Drive Shack is a golf entertainment venue where interactive golf games, chef-inspired food, and craft drinks all come together under one roof. Play in covered, all-weather hitting bays powered by TrackMan tracking technology, grab a bite in the restaurant or up on the rooftop, take on Puttery mini golf, and bring everyone from first-timers to lifelong golfers. No matter who you are or how you play, everything is In Range.

Do I need to be a golfer to visit Drive Shack?

Not at all. Our games are built so first-timers can jump right in, and plenty of guests come just to eat, drink, and hang out. Whether you’ve never picked up a club or you play every weekend, you’ll fit right in.

Do I have to play golf to come in?

Nope. Our bars, restaurant, and lounges are open to everyone, so you can come just for dinner, drinks, or the game on one of our 300+ TVs. Playing is always an option, never a requirement.

How is Drive Shack different from regular golf?

We took the practice-facility idea and turned it into a night out. Instead of quietly working through a bucket of balls, you’re playing interactive games and virtual golf courses with TrackMan tracking every shot, while food and drinks come straight to your bay. And if you are serious about your swing, the same technology gives you tour-level data on every ball you hit.

What's the difference between Drive Shack and Topgolf?

Both are golf entertainment venues with games, food, and drinks. The biggest difference is the technology behind every shot: Drive Shack uses TrackMan, the radar-based system trusted on professional tours, to track the true flight of a real, standard golf ball from launch to landing. That means genuine ball-flight data on every single swing, including carry distance, ball speed, spin, and apex. Real balls, real flight, real numbers.

Where are Drive Shack locations?

You’ll find Drive Shack in Raleigh, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; and West Palm Beach, Florida. Each venue page has directions, hours, menus, and online booking.

What are your hours?

Hours vary by venue and by day, and holiday hours can differ too. Check your local Drive Shack location page for current hours.

PLAYING THE BAYS

What games does Drive Shack have?

Our games bring out the (mostly) friendly competition. We mix classic favorites, like a golf spin on blackjack, with target challenges, or you can tee it up on one of our virtual golf courses without leaving your bay. Whatever you choose, TrackMan tracks every ball from launch to landing, so bragging rights come with receipts.

Are the games fun for beginners or experienced golfers?

Both, honestly. First-timers love the games because no experience is required, and experienced players get real data on every swing: peak height, ball speed, spin, carry distance, and total distance. Everyone finds their level, then tries to beat it.

What technology does Drive Shack use?

Drive Shack partners with TrackMan, the global leader in golf tracking technology. Unlike camera-based systems that estimate where a ball is likely to land, TrackMan’s radar tracks the actual flight of every shot in real time, from launch to landing. It’s the same technology the pros train with, built into every bay.

Am I hitting real golf balls?

Always. Real, standard golf balls, and they’re unlimited with your bay.

Am I hitting golf balls inside or outside?

A bit of both, in the best way. You swing from covered, open-air bays out onto our outfield, so you get true ball flight with all-weather comfort. Heaters keep bays cozy on cold days and fans keep things cool on hot ones.

Can I play in bad weather or in winter?

Yes, we’re open year-round, rain or shine. Our covered, all-weather hitting bays have heaters for chilly nights and fans for hot afternoons, so the forecast never cancels your plans.

Do you provide golf clubs, or do I need to bring my own?

We’ve got you covered. Complimentary clubs for men, women, and kids are stocked in every bay, in both right- and left-handed options. Prefer your own sticks? You’re welcome to bring them along.

How many people can play in one bay?

Up to 6 guests per bay. Got a bigger crew? Groups of 7 or more go through our events team so we can set you up with multiple bays and a smoother experience.

How does bay pricing work?

Bays rent by the hour, not per person, and up to 6 guests share one bay, so the more friends you bring, the better the math gets. Current rates are listed on each venue’s location page.

RESERVATIONS & WALK-INS

Can I just walk into a venue?

Absolutely. Groups under 7 are welcome to walk right in and we’ll get you squared away. Prefer a sure thing? Reserve a bay online in advance, especially for evenings and weekends.

Do I need to make a reservation in advance?

Reservations are never required, but they’re the smart move for peak times. Weekends and evenings fill up fast, so booking ahead is the easiest way to guarantee your bay. Once a window fills, it’s out of range.

How far in advance can I book a bay?

Bays typically open for online booking up to 10 days in advance. Planning further out, or bringing 7 or more people? Our events team can lock in dates any time.

How do I cancel or modify a reservation?

To cancel: open your Tock confirmation email and click ‘Cancel reservation.’ If you booked with a Tock account, you can also cancel from your reservation under your profile at exploretock.com.

To change the date or time: cancel your current reservation and rebook the slot you want. Packages can’t be edited after booking, so rebooking is faster than waiting on us.
Refunds: refunds go back to the original payment method and typically post within 5 to 10 business days.

Can’t find your confirmation email? Check spam for noreply@exploretock.com. Still stuck? Send us a note through our contact form and we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.
Booked a private event or buyout? Those follow the terms in your event agreement, and your event planner is your contact.

How do I make a reservation for 7 or more people?

Groups of 7 or more book through our events team. Submit a quick event request and a planner will reach out to build your perfect setup, from a couple of extra bays to a full buyout.

PUTTERY MINI GOLF

Does Drive Shack have mini golf?

Yes! Puttery at Drive Shack is our themed mini golf experience, built right into every venue. Each location features two 9-hole courses, so you can putt through all 18 before, after, or instead of your bay time.

How does Puttery pricing and booking work?

Puttery is priced per person with unlimited rounds, so you can replay the courses as many times as you like. Book online or just walk in. Courses occasionally host private events, so booking ahead guarantees your tee time.

Is Puttery kid-friendly?

Very. Kids are welcome on the courses and kids’ pricing is available. Groups just need at least one adult (18 or older) playing along.

FOOD & DRINK

What type of food do you serve?

The good stuff. Our chef-inspired menu runs from crave-worthy shareables to full entrees, with plenty of range for every taste at the table. Menus vary a little by venue, so check your location’s menu for the current lineup.

Is there a dining area or do we eat in the bays?

Your call. Eat between swings right in your bay, settle into one of our dining areas or lounges, or head up to the rooftop. Wherever you land, the kitchen’s got you.

Do you serve food and beverages in the hitting bays?

Absolutely. A friendly Bay Caddy delivers warm food and cold drinks right to your bay, so you never have to interrupt a hot streak.

Do you serve alcoholic beverages?

Of course. From local drafts to craft cocktails, our bars have you covered no matter your taste. Just please drink responsibly.

Are there non-alcoholic options?

Plenty. Alongside the full bar you’ll find zero-proof and non-alcoholic options, so every guest has something great in hand.

Do you have special options for kids?

Yes, there’s a menu section just for kids.

Do you serve brunch?

Yes, brunch is on the menu. Check your venue’s menu page for the current lineup and serving times.

Can I bring in my own food and beverages?

Outside food and drinks aren’t permitted, with one sweet exception: store-bought cakes are welcome for celebrations. A couple of venues also have their own special-occasion policies, so check your location’s FAQ for the details.

KIDS & FAMILIES

Can I bring my kids? Is Drive Shack family-friendly?

Absolutely. Drive Shack is built for all ages, with games any skill level can play, a kids menu, and Puttery mini golf the whole family can take on. Guests under 18 just need to be supervised by an adult while playing.

When do guests need to show ID?

Bring a valid ID if you plan to order from the bar. Our team also checks ID for groups who appear under 18, just to keep everything on the level.

GROUPS & EVENTS

Can I host a party or event at Drive Shack?

You bet. From birthday parties and bachelor or bachelorette weekends to corporate outings and holiday parties, our events team builds it around you with flexible spaces, lounges, rooftop options, and menus for every kind of group.

What capacity do you have?

Small or large, we can do it all. Events start at 7 guests and scale all the way up to full-venue buyouts of 1,200.

I want to have an event at Drive Shack. How do I get started?

You picked the right place. Submit a quick event inquiry and a local event planner will reach out to design the whole thing with you: bays, spaces, food, timing, all of it.

PAYMENTS, GIFT CARDS & GOOD TO KNOW

Is cash accepted as a form of payment?

All Drive Shack venues are cashless. We accept debit and credit cards, tap payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Drive Shack gift cards.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, gift cards are available at every Drive Shack venue. Swing by any location and we’ll set you up.

Can I buy gift cards online or have one shipped?

Not at the moment. Gift cards are currently sold in-venue only, so stop by your nearest Drive Shack to pick one up.

Is there a dress code?

Come as you are. There’s no dress code at Drive Shack; we just require shoes at all times, everywhere in the venue, for safety.

Are pets allowed?

Service animals are always welcome. Other pets, as much as we love them, need to sit this round out.

Is Drive Shack wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our venues are wheelchair accessible, including elevator access to upper levels plus accessible parking and restrooms.

Is there guest Wi-Fi?

Yes, complimentary guest Wi-Fi is available throughout every venue.

Do you require membership?

No membership required, ever. Just walk in or book a bay and play.

Do you have golf leagues?

Yes, we run seasonal Social Golf Leagues, typically three seasons a year, with weekly play, friendly competition, contests, and prizes for teams of every skill level. Check the Social Golf Leagues page for the current season.

CHARITY & DONATIONS

Does Drive Shack donate to local nonprofits?

We do. Community is a big deal to us, and we support local nonprofits whenever we can. Submit your request through our contact form and select ‘Donation’ from the subject dropdown.

What type of nonprofits does Drive Shack support?

While we strive to support as many causes as we can, we’re not able to accommodate every request, and we focus our giving on: Diversity & Inclusion, Hunger & Poverty, Developmental Needs, Disaster Relief, Education, Youth & Community Development, First Responders & Military, Health & Well-Being, and Public Youth Athletic Programs. Drive Shack does not contribute toward individual causes, political parties, religious groups, or for-profit organizations.

How do I send in a donation request?

Go to driveshack.com/contact and select ‘Donation’ from the subject dropdown. So we can fulfill as many requests as possible, please submit at least 30 days before your event.

RULES & SAFETY

What are Drive Shack's safety rules?

Safety is king of the greens at Drive Shack. We ask all guests to follow these rules:

Only ONE person is allowed beyond the Red Line at any time.
All other guests in the hitting bay must stay behind the Red Line at all times.
Players may only hit from the mat in a stationary stance. No running starts.
All guests must stay behind the Yellow Line at all times. Walking onto the outfield or entering the safety netting on the 2nd or 3rd levels is forbidden.
Check the area around you before swinging a golf club.
Shoes must be worn at all times and in all areas of Drive Shack.
Throwing golf balls or golf clubs is forbidden. Dispense and hit one ball at a time.
Golf clubs may only be used to hit a ball within the designated area.
Aim at the targets and do not hit balls over the netting or outside the outfield.
Do not sit on or tamper with the ball dispensers or gaming equipment.
Players are responsible for any damage or injury caused by balls hit outside the netting.
Obey all verbal instructions from Drive Shack staff.
No disruptive or dangerous behavior will be tolerated.
Guests under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult when playing.
Drive Shack is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
In addition to the Drive Shack Code of Conduct and other posted facility rules, guests must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
Drive Shack reserves the right to remove any guest violating this code of conduct.
